break some rules

hell there are no rules here we’re trying to accomplish something

• we are instructed to do things (or not do) in certain ways from a developmental age
• whether to maintain stability in society/family/communities or it’s driven by an ethos
• ultimately these rules (moreso guidelines) are written and driven by what worked in the past
• the problem there is ‘what works’ is the bare minimum
• one should strive to be better and optimize and be able to look back and be proud of how far from the origin they’ve come
• following rules and guidelines and laws are not a change from the origin
• art never was coloring within the lines
• poetry never followed grammar
• look at the way you do things in life, from driving to your creative endeavors, to meaningful work
• and ask why you’ve limited yourself
• was it for a good reason?
• probably not
• time to break some rules
• time to test those limits
• that feeling of anxiety when going into the unknown?
• lean into it
• everyone else backs away
• to face the unknown and to continue without faltering is the bravest thing you can do
• go and just do things
• create something first and ask permission after
• often the answer changes when the outcome already happened
• it’s later than you think, time to get on with the show
• there’s a big beautiful world waiting for you to earn all it has to offer
• but are you willing to put in the work to make that big world a little smaller
• don’t wait for a sign don’t wait for people, this is your world
• now go
• break those rules
• go out of bounds
