privacy

this is a personal site, not a business. there are no accounts, no logins, no ad network, no data brokers, and nothing here is sold or shared. what follows is the specific and complete list, because a privacy page that says "we value your privacy" and stops is worthless.

stays in your browser, never sent anywhere

• your settings (theme, motion effects, perspective) in localStorage under zayd-wtf-settings.
• anything you draw on the homepage doodle pad, under zayd-doodle-paths, until you choose to submit it.
• which recipe ingredients you have ticked off.
• a service worker cache so the site works offline.

clearing site data in your browser erases all of it. there is no server-side copy.

leaves your browser

• analytics. google tag manager and google analytics, for page views and rough geography. standard google data handling applies. block it with any content blocker and the site works identically.
• weather. a coordinate pair goes to open-meteo to draw the weather module. no identifier is attached.
• approximate location. if you switch perspective to "you", your ip is sent to a keyless geolocation service (ipwho.is, falling back to ipapi.co) to get a city-level estimate for the sun, moon, and sky. city-level only, cached for the session, never stored on my side, and never claimed to be exact. the site labels it with a ≈ for that reason. the public ip shown in the boot readout is deliberately digit-scrambled so it looks real and is not.
• comments and drawings. only if you submit one. these go to supabase and are stored until removed. do not put anything private in them: they are public by design, and you should assume they are permanent.

hosting

served by vercel behind cloudflare. both keep their own request logs, including ip addresses, as any web host does. i do not run my own logging on top of that, and i do not build profiles of visitors.

ai crawlers and agents

as of 21 august 2026 this site welcomes them, by name, in robots.txt, including for model training. that is a decision about my writing and code, which is the only thing here that is mine to give. it does not extend to anything you submit. see /llms.txt for the long version.

removal

want a comment or drawing gone, or an analytics question answered? email [email protected] and it gets handled by a human, which is me. no form, no ticket, no verification ritual.
